Tinker's Terminals
Tinker's Terminals
A tiny puzzle platformer game (a.k.a. "Knowledgevania") about figuring out how to use ancient terminals programmed in mysterious forgotten glyphs.
You are trapped in an old facility controlled by strange, worn-down terminals. These machines control platforms and gates, but you would have to figure out the command syntax first...
Controls
- WASD or Arrows: Movement
- Space: Jump
- E: Interact
- Mouse/clicking inside terminals
- Game advice: screenshots/taking notes could be helpful!

Hints
In case you're lost and don't know what to do (hopefully this doesn't happen)... here are some hints, in the order of game progression:
(Click to reveal)
- 1. Press [E] to interact with the terminal. You can click on keys to input, and click the green circle to enter.
- 2. To get outside this first section... Try copy the text on the wall (all 4 symbols) into the terminal? If you're stuck underneath, if Upper Arrow (↑) means going up, would Down Arrow (↓) be the reverse?
- 3. Once you got above and headed left, you would see another platform. There are names written in green ink on both the new platform and the old one. Could it be their names?
- 4. There are many terminals missing buttons. If the terminal near you doesn't work, you can always use another terminal. They are all connected.
- 5. Stuck in the room with a big Cross mark and the elevator is missing? This elevator has three stops, as opposed to just two in previous elevators you've seen. Try send the "down" command twice.
- 6. You see a gate blocking you. Maybe gates and platforms have a similar syntax.
- 7. If there is an elevator named "PP↑P", but you don't know how to control it to the expected position. Maybe ignore it for the moment and return later!
- 8. You headed back but a gate is blocking you. Remember that it can be opened by any terminal remotely. You need to find one with the required keys.
- 9. The elevator is not working. Perhaps the gate is blocking its path.
- 10. The elevator stopped in the middle. Recall the "↑↑" signs on the wall. What does that mean? How is it different from single-arrow in commands?
By now you have all the knowledge and tools to understand the entire game map. Find the path to that one final room you haven't explored yet.
- Final puzzle hints: Graffitis again and again! Why are there seven green dots? How do they relate to what you've found so far?
- You've been seeing green ink throughout the game?
- Open the map; there are some huge green glyphs at the bottom. How many green glyphs are there?
- You've been seeing green ink throughout the game?
